Welcome to The Salon By Design.  I have owned the salon for nearly 15 years, and have over 25 years experience in the hairdressing business.  As a salon owner I strive for excellence.  I am a precision cutter on my salon floor, and a Schwarzkopf long hair ambassador (teacher) around the country.

With many years experience of customer service, the last ten years of which I have been at The Salon.  With a talented and busy team here at The Salon I have become a very good liaison and pride myself in client satisfaction.  I am able to look after any of your hair salon enquiries and appointments.

I am trained in Kerastase and Schwarzkopf home hair care ranges, so no problem if you need help dissevering  which product is correct for you.

As I have been involved with hairdressing for some years, I can identify that we all have different hair types and needs. I am able to direct you to the appropriate stylist for your hairdressing requirements.  So please feel confident and safe to call myself and make an appointment.

Bianca O’Connell – Senior stylist, makeup artist

I have been in the beauty industry for 11 years.  Hair not being the only string to my bow, I am also a beauty therapist. I love all aspects of this industry.  So being able to not only care for your  hair, I can give advice concerning your beauty needs.  Make up artistry is also a skill I have, and am happy to provide this service to you.

Whether it’s just some pointers to help you at home, or if you require my professional hand for an occasion.  I love colour, love doing long hair too. Kathleen Ling – Third year apprentice

Nearly at the end of my training, I am excited about becoming a qualified stylist and getting my hair salon career started.  Though I don’t yet obtain my golden ticket, don’t be discouraged to come and see the skill my training has given me.  I am at competent at applying colour, blow waving, basic cutting skills.

I know an apprentice doing your hair sounds scary, but the supervision over me is so full on, nothing could go wrong!  A major plus side to coming and seeing what I can do for you, is that I can charge apprentice prices!  I know how good that sounds to the purse strings!

Remember, I have been trained by the senior staff of The Salon by design, so I am a reflection of them and their high level of standards and skill.  Not so scary at all!

James Nottage – Third year apprentice

Being in the same boat as Kat with my training, all of what she has written applies to myself also.  I am a very confidant character. I love people, hair, fashion, the ladies. So I have found my dream vocation in hairdressing, to which I am very passionate about.
